Continue to Evolve in 2023

As the year is closing in on us, I sat earlier feeling somewhat nostalgic that I missed myself and how I used to be.

And then, instantly, I asked myself, what is it precisely that I miss?

And I couldn’t answer whether it’s some moments, people, friendship circles, family, past experiences, missed opportunities, or a future that hasn’t happened yet.

Because there’s nothing to miss…. Because life is about creating constantly evolving wiser versions of myself. And there’s no version of myself I’d want to go back to. So, it’s not about missing an older version of yourself; it’s about creating a new one that aligns with my truth.

As long as I follow my heart and make true choices, that’s what fills my heart more than anything else.

I love this quote from the movie Reminiscence:

‘The past can haunt a man, that’s what they say. The past is just a series of moments. Each one perfect. Complete. A bead on the necklace of time. The past doesn’t haunt us. Wouldn’t even recognise us. If there are ghosts to be found, it’s us who haunt the past.’

It all counts. It’s all part of being human. Remember, we are incredibly powerful creators shaping our happiness and destinies.

Magic is real and to be human is one hell of an experience, so let’s take a moment to realise how magical it is to be human and how far we all have come in life with all its ups and downs, with moments that bring untold love and happiness and those moments of loss, pain and despair.

Here’s to the new year ahead… to more creations. To living life that truly counts. To remembering that our mistakes don’t define us but contribute to our evolution.
